You have been paying attention at the Meetups! This is a great walk through the mind of someone who is hoarding. I'd love to read the end of this story...great job!

Good to hear from you! It hasn’t been a problem—we’ve only gotten a couple of pieces of your junk mail. But I think I’ll use more caution when shoving my hand in the P.O. box in the future….

hi there,

i just want to apologize for any inconvenience our mail has caused you. due to a complete oversight on our part, we have left what is now your p.o.box number on our site. it's obvious we haven't kept the site current, but we intend to fix that just as quick as possible! in the meantime, should you get any cash, ammunition, motorcycle parts or human organs in your p.o. box, we'll be happy to pick that up so's you don't have to fuss with all that mess.
thanks for your patience, and for the plug on your blog!

sincerely,

evil bettie

Ah, damn! You write so well. I especially like the idea of standing at someone's shoulder as that person makes a decision. Also, that desire will sort itself out, but compassion, discipline, etc., not so easily. All pure truth, elegantly expressed.

It is strange to me that what I take away from your writing so far is comfort. Another way to say it might be that you are reaching your audience, or at least this member of it.

What an interesting turn in the story - pain inducing metal collar, eh? Sure this isn't Sci-Fi? I can't wait to see where this story goes. This reads like it's turning into an action-adventure tale now. I really like the descriptions of the sounds reaching him. Since you've set it up with no visual parameters really, except 4 walls and one light source, you spend your descriptive time on sounds, and I like the results. Great job so far!

oooooohhhh - that's the first time a Millenial story has been spooky. Trying to explain a flood of memories, good and awful, without cease. First question I asked was - when does the flood stop? Very interesting twist to medical procedure risk - a flash flood of your life flashing before your eyes. Who gets overloaded? Who's brain freaks out? Who changes personalities because of it? Do amnesiacs suddenly remember who they are? Which patients break under the strain, or can they really break at all since there are nanobots running around in there? Wouldn't that prevent any checking out coping mechanism? So, you must relive it and you can't use the regular coping skills to deal with it? What happens if your brain keeps trying to crack under the strain and the nanobots keep fixing it? Spooky.
